Some time ago in rural Myanmar a handful of us sho

Some time ago in rural Myanmar a handful of us showed up unannounced at this man’s monastery. He welcomed us openly, brought us cold water and even a snack. He invited us to relax in the shade and seemed content to spend as much time with us as we wanted. He shared about the monastery and read a little from his Buddhist scriptures when we inquired about his faith. In short, he was kind.

His kindness was offered to those who looked differently, dressed differently, spoke differently and were complete strangers. I couldn’t help but wonder if he would receive a similar reception at a place of worship in my own country.

As violence and disease ravages the precious people of Myanmar our hearts are drawn to the memory of that afternoon. Would you join with us to specifically pray for this man and for those both fleeing and trapped by the violence in his nation? We’re not convinced there are easy answers to this nation’s woes but are most certain that in Christ Jesus there is hope. #hopewithus for Myanmar.

The idols of Southeast Asia cannot hear and cannot speak. They do not answer the cries of the oppressed, the broken, the wounded. Yet millions bow at their feet without knowledge of the Living God. Lifting up the peoples of Indonesia as they continue to count the dead from a recent earthquake on Sulawesi Island. Praying for relief as flooding in South Kalimantan has displaced tens of thousands. Humbled, considering the raw power of two volcanoes actively spewing ash on Java. All this as record daily numbers of Covid-19 increase. May the mercy, grace and steadfast love of God be made known in theses troubling times.

This gentleman is way cooler than my milkman. As I understand it, 50% of milk produced in India is from buffalos. Evidently the buffalos not only produce more milk than a dairy cow, but the milk also has double the fat content. Praying for him today, for safety on the roads and that he will know the love of his Father in Heaven.

These ladies will walk out of the frame and be gone. But they are not forgotten. I thank God for the missionaries He has called to Myanmar where they ‘declare His glory among the nations’. The King of heaven and earth who sits on His throne says “Ask”. As heirs to the throne (Romans 8:17) we are invited to “Ask”, to be part of God’s great love story for His people and the reconciliation of man “from every nation, from all the tribes, and peoples and languages” (Revelation 7:9). Together let’s Ask for The Nations and for the Sikh People, most of whom live in a part of the world where less than 1% are followers of Jesus.

One missionary family in My4nm4r has partnered wit

One missionary family in My4nm4r has partnered with local people to sew cloth face masks. For one of the workers, this means she can support her family of five siblings since the factory where she normally works is closed due to Covid-19. The masks go into care packages along with a bar of soap, an info sheet on Covid-19, and a letter explaining the motivation behind the care package - that God has great compassion for them. 500 care packages have been distributed with 1000 more in the works. Pray with us that God would work in peoples hearts and draw them to Himself in My4nm4r.

A fire-truck came along thereafter to hose down the area with water and disinfectant. What would go through your mind if this was your neighborhood? How far would I walk for clean water? I’d like to think I’d walk as far as I had to… I can’t live without water. Will we go the distance or stop for water that may not be clean. It may quench thirst temporarily, but in the long run (perhaps even the next day).... sickness. Think about these things in the context of church planting…. In some places there is no clean water!! What are your thoughts?
