Some Jungles Have WiFi

The Bangkok Metro Region is home to nearly 15 million people. Less than 1% of them follow Jesus. That means millions may not even know a single believer. Not one. It’s our prayer to see that change. It’s going to take a ridiculous amount of work in a place that’s hotter, harder and more resistant to the gospel than you can imagine.

Life in the City

The sheer scale of a city that size cannot be mentally grasped—a fact that is only reinforced while standing 300 meters in the sky on the revolving platform at Baiyoke Tower.

But Bangkok is more than a horizon of impressive skyscrapers; at street-level, it’s a vibrant, bustling production, millions of lives and stories that intersect with each other every day—not always in ways that are good. The Thai name for Bangkok, Krung Thep, means “city of angels, home of all the gods.” With Buddhism comes endless cycles of reincarnation fed by a system of works that worshipers hope will earn them a higher status in their next life. It is a false hope and it pervades every aspect of Thai life.
