In some ways, Indonesia is remarkably diverse. There are thousands of distinct native ethnic groups and hundreds of linguistic groups. However, a shared identity has developed with the motto “Bhinneka Tunggal Aka” literally, “many, yet one” defined through a national language, cultural diversity, religious pluralism and a history of colonialism and rebellion against it.
Indonesia is the worlds fourth-most populous country and the most populous Muslim-majority country. It is home to an estimated 231 million Muslims.
Pray with us that spiritual strongholds would be overcome by the love of Christ as followers of Jesus share the Good News in culturally understandable ways among communities in Indonesia.
