Indian cultural history spans several thousand years. During the Vedic period 1700 BCE – 500 BCE), the foundations of Hindu philosophy mythology, theology and literature were laid. Many of those beliefs and practices still exist today. India is notable for its religious diversity, with Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Islam, Christianity and Jainism among the nation’s major religions. However, the predominant religion, Hinduism, continues to shape the country on most every front.
Pray with us that spiritual strongholds would be overcome by the love of Christ as followers of Jesus share the Good News in culturally understandable ways among communities in North India.
